About me
Hi, my name is Petra and I live in a little village 4.4 kilometers (2 miles) from Etten where my big inspiration: Van Gogh learned how to paint. I love his colors, way of pasting the paint on canvas and his beautiful bright contrasts.
Although my paintings are based on what I see myself in the country side, and the chosen colors are my own, I do try to mimic the beautiful style of the best painter there ever was.
With my "painting fist" I try to copy Van Gogh in the same way as he copied Millet.
I use H2Oil, a medium that I'm certain Van Gogh would have liked to experiment with, if it was around in his days.
It dries quicker then the original oil paint, so you can work quickly. You can use it with water, making it very suitable to paint with outdoors. It holds its volume and has deep rich colors, which makes it perfect to lay on the paint in thick slabs so you can reflect what you see not only by color but also by texture.
